When the weather gets hot, I don’t turn the oven or grill often. And I do not crave meat. Or when my fridge is almost empty, or I’m in a rush. Then I have Sriracha Avocado Salsa Toast.
Simple, clean and vegetarian open faced sandwich – slices of avocado layered on a piece of toasted organic whole grain (Ezekiel, sprouted) bread, that is spreaded with mild salsa and drizzled with a few drops of Sriracha sauce.
The best sandwich ever that even my kid can make! Um, and it’s healthy and good for you.
I love fresh bread and if you don’t, then you are not human! When watching weight, have a piece of Ezekiel, sprouted or local organic whole grain bread.
It is good for you in moderation. Just like this one… And those tiny flax seeds and oats, we always fight who gets them from the bottom of the bag.
And avocado…You should start loving it if you still don’t. Full of healthy fats that boost levels of HDL, “good” cholesterol, 18 essential amino acids that form complete protein in your body, and help prevent inflammation. And it helps you to lose weight. In one word, it’s real food!
If you are not familiar with Sriracha, it is Thai hot sauce made from chili peppers. It’s medium in heat and adds extra flavour without extra calories to a.n.y.t.h.i.n.g! You can find it in most grocery stores at a very affordable price. In North America it’s known also as a “rooster sauce” because of the packaging – clear plastic bottle with rooster on it and green cap. Look for it next time you are grocery shopping.
